H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar Approves NSSP Strategic Plan
H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar, acting Minister of Urban Development and Land – MUDL in a meeting with Mr. Hyoung Gun Wang the representative of the World Bank for Urban Developmental Affairs in Afghanistan, talked over starting, how to proceed and fund the National Spatial Strategy and National Spatial Plan (NSSP).
At first, the representative of the World Bank for Urban Developmental Affairs in Afghanistan, appreciated hard tireless work of the leadership of the ministry in managing urban affairs and land management and gave necessary explanation regarding the project.
Moreover, Mr. Hyoung Gun Wang added, it is intended that this programme will be funded with $1,500,000 by South Korea through the World Bank, which will be led by the ministry and the involvement of Ministries of Finance, Economic, Transport, Labor and Social Affairs, Industry, Mine and Trade, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and Interior Minister in its implementation.
Subsequently, H.E Jawad Peikar appreciated the financial and technical support of the World Bank for the implementation of development projects in the framework of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land and said, implementation of the National Spatial Planning and Strategy Project for the first time, involving all sectoral ministries, will strengthen and establish coordination between ministries in implementing national and international projects and facilitating their implementation.
Furthermore, the leadership of the ministry mentioned that under this project, water resources, forests, green areas, commercial ports, snow reserves are going to be mapped from space and the ministries are making their plans.
In addition, H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar emphasized the importance, impact and purpose of this development project, guided to form working units comprising relevant specialists to successfully implement and develop this project.
It is worth mentioning that the NSSP project is being implemented with the financial and technical assistance of South Korea and the World Bank in Afghanistan under the leadership of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land.
