H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar Meets Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development
Acting Minister of Urban Development and Land – MUDL, H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar met Mr. Mujib Rahman Karimi, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development at his office and talked about nomads’ live improvement.
At the beginning Mr. Mujeeb Rahman Karimi said so far 905 nomads’ councils have been created through Citizens' Charter National Priority Program throughout the country and the recent changes have divided the nomads into three categories; residents, mobile and semi-mobile and the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development have prepared complete biography of the nomads.
Subsequently, H.E Mohammad Jawad Peikar Acting Minister of Urban Development and Land added nomads as nationals of the country adding that they have the right to have shelter, beside this, their access to other services must be regulated through a tri-lateral memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and the Independent General Directorate of Kochi.
In addition, head of the ministry added, based on the memorandum the Ministry of Urban Development and Land would have the responsibility of planning the residential areas, consolidation and formalization of land and property for Kochi and the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development would provide humanitarian assistance.
At the end, the Minister of Urban Development and Land guided to form mutual technical team to prepare memorandum of understanding also demanded the complete biography of the mentioned three categories of Kochi from the minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development so that based on the Programme the ministry is intended to provide necessary services.
