15 Mosques Inaugurate By MUDL
During the implementation of the 100 days - 100 evangels program (week of mosques), 15 mosques have been inaugurated. In the program attended by H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the First Voice President, Mr. Mahmood Karzai, Minister of Urban Development and Land - MUDL, scholars, Cabinet Ministers, DMs, and governors took part in the program online at ARG, the presidential palace. The program insisted that 900 mosques will be launched with its sort of work from foundation stone stage to inauguration through the implementation of the 100 days - 100 evangels program (week of mosques).
H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani stated during the ceremony that a responsible government designs its programs based on the wishes of its nation, and for many years, one of the most important wishes of the nation has been the construction of grand mosques, and restoration of them is a historical need to be done.
Furthermore, the President stated that mosques are our social hubs and that mosques are the largest civic institutions in the country. It is also the government's Islamic and national obligation to give special attention to its building, development, and upkeep. In addition, he praised the Ministry of Urban Development and Land for constructing standard and high-quality mosques around the country.
Additionally, Ms. Sahar Hamdard, the ministry's DM of Building Affairs, stated that the ministry, in addition to urbanism services, infrastructure, housing, and land, plays an active part in the planning, design, and construction of mosques around the nation.
Moreover, the DM of construction affairs stated that the MUDL has 201 mosques under its management and program across the country, of which 75 are in the implementation process, some of which have been completed, and the remainder will be completed within two months. Mosques are also built based on the number of worshipers, with an average of 500-1500 worshippers present at any given time.
Likewise, she stated that the MUDL has constructed and paid attention to all mosque necessities such as a scholar room, ablution room, bathroom, surrounding wall, green area, water well, and septic well in complex form, and that in the last few months, the MUDL has constructed 15 mosques with all of its equipment, which will be soon exploited after the inauguration by H.E President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. In addition, the MUDL has a plan for the renovation and reconstruction of historical monuments and ancient mosques, with the renovation and reconstruction of Shah Do Shamshira and Mir Hazar mosques completed and renovation of dozens of historical monuments still under construction across the country.
It is worth noting that during the week of mosques, the ministry of urban development and land – MUDL – laid the foundation stone or exploited 169 mosques, the ministry of Haj and Religious Affairs – 395 mosques, and the Operation and Support Office of the President for National Development – 400 mosques in the country's 34 provinces.
