MUDL Registers Over 4,500,000 Jeribs of State Land in Past Year
The Ministry of Urban Development and Land – MUDL through the State Land Bank Program in past one year has surveyed and registered 4,700,000 jeribs (940,000 hectares) of state-owned land in 28 provinces of the country.
Out of the total; 370,000 jeribs (74,000 hectares) of land has been registered in Nangarhar, 238,000 jeribs (47,600 hectares) of land in Nimruz, 235,000 jeribs (47,000 hectares) of land in Kabul, 230,000 jeribs (46,000 hectares) of land in Balkh, 217,000 jeribs (43,400 hectares) of land in Paktia, 200,000 jeribs (40,000 hectares) of land in Kunduz, 198,000 jeribs (39,600 hectares) of land in Kandahar, 194,000 jeribs (38,800 hectares) of land in Herat and the rest of the land has been surveyed and registered in 20 other provinces of the country.
In addition, the ministry has started utilizing the registered land, as it has transferred 18,953 jeribs (3,790.6 hectares) of state land to the applicant state institutions to implement 94 public projects in 20 provinces of the country in the ongoing year. Moreover, about 20,000 residential plots have been distributed to the Returnees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Families of Martyrs of the Country’s Security and Defense Forces and Teachers in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar and Logar provinces.
Moreover, the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, through the State Land Bank Program, is committed to register state-owned land and public properties under state institutions use, avoid state land grabbing and utilize the land effectively in implementing of public projects in the country.
The State Land Bank, based on the article number 11-12 of the Land Management Law and Presidential Decree Number 66 of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, has started its operation in 28 provinces of the country.
