H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar: Oruzgan City Urban Plan Framework Must be Prepared

Acting Minister of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land – MUDL, H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar along with a delegation of directors met with governor of Uruzgan and mayor of Tirin Kut at his office, stressed and talked on developmental and urban projects in the province.

At the beginning, governor of Uruzgan and the Tirin Kut mayor demanded completion of Khairo Kariz Township, building on 1919 jeribs (383.8 hectares) of land, survey of Tirin Kut National Township on 1,000 jeribs (200 hectares) of land, lining and transferring of land for the purpose of 200 residential township for teachers, the transferring of land for martyrs township, construction of administrative building for the Directorate of Urban Development and Land and clearing of state-owned private land in the province.

In the meantime, the minister of Urban Development and Land added in developmental area Uruzgan has been sidelined, however, after this a balanced developmental principle will be undertaken and the process will change. H.E. M. Jawad Peikar insisted plan of Khairo Kariz Township has been completed 80 percent and assigned the General Directorate of Urban Planning to complete the remaining work. In addition, he gave task to the Directorate of Land Transferring to prepare land transferring plan for the township to the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.

Furthermore, regarding the survey of National Township in Tirin Kut the minister assigned the Directorate of Urban Planning to send a team to Uruzgan, along with lining the teachers’ township, and the distribution of plates to the needy teachers.

Along with that, the minister advised the municipal of Tirin Kut in distributing the Land of Martyrs Township to start the distribution of the land under a proper principle.

In addition, the minister assured that necessary budget has been considered for the construction of the Directorate of Urban Development and Land of Uruzgan from the developmental budget of the upcoming year, He extended regarding the 16 jeribs of land clearance in the surroundings of Uruzgan Township; Uruzgan Governor Office must send a letter to the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, which based on that attain the verdict from the Office of Chief of Staff to the President.

At the end of the meeting, acting minister of Urban Development and Land, H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar instructed the relevant departments to include the city planning framework of Tirin Kut in Sasaki plan; the long-term direction of Uruzgan city will be cleared.
