Over 750,000 Urban Informal Houses Registered in 8 Cities
In proceed Programme for Registration Urban Informal Settlement (PRUIS), the Ministry of Urban Development and Land – MUDL has registered 754,233 informal urban houses in 8 cities and four districts of the country.
Out of the total; 474,972 houses have been registered in 22 police district and 3,772 houses in Mir Bacha Kot district of Kabul, 81,442 houses are in Mazar-e-Sharif city and 2,617 houses are in Balkh district, 72,743 houses are in Herat city and 6,271 houses are in Injil district, 51,818 houses are in city of Kandahar are 4,670 houses are in Spin Boldak district, 24,384 houses are in Jalalabad, 12,014 houses are in city of Farah, 12,392 houses are in Bamyan and 7,138 houses are in Nili the provincial city of Daikundi province.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, by the end of 2020 plans to distribute 200,000 occupancy certificates to houses in informal urban areas, which will provide 1,000,000 residents with secure property.
