Over 490,000 Urban Informal Houses Registered in Kabul

In implementation of the Programme for Registration of Urban Informal Settlement (PRUIS), the Ministry of Urban Development and Land – MUDL has surveyed and registered 495,656 urban informal houses in 22 police districts and Mir Bacha Kot district of capital Kabul.

Out of the total; 491,040 houses are located in city the 22 PDs and the remaining 4,616 are in Mir Bacha Kot district.

Moreover, the Ministry of Urban Development and Land has so far surveyed and registered 790,446 urban informal houses in Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif, Herat, Kandahar, Jalalabad, Farah, Bamyan and Nili and at the same time more than 20,000 occupancy certificates have been distributed to the beneficiaries.
