Kandahar Dahla Dam Development Obstacles to be Tackle Down: H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar
H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar, Acting Minister of Urban Development and Land – MUDL along with directors of the ministry in a meeting with Mr. Abdul Hamid Helmandi, Senior Advisor to H.E. President in Agriculture and Development Affairs and Mr. Khan Mohammad Takal, Deputy Minister of Water of the Ministry of Energy and Water, discussed the social obstacles in the clearing the areas of Dahla Dam of Kandahar province.
Initially, Mr. Abdul Hamid Helmandi and Mr. Khan Mohammad Takal acknowledged the achievements regarding the Dam adding that the people of the area not allowing to clear the surrounding of the dam area and demanded alternative ways for clearance of land.
Subsequently, the ministry of MUDL said, it is required to sign an agreement with representative of the people of the area, in order to tackle down the social problems.
Moreover, based on the guidance by H.E. Mohammad Jawad Peikar, it is important to specify the responsibilities of all sides including the people.
Furthermore, action plan must be created for this indispensable project, in order to pursue all the tasks on the bases of the schedule.
It is worth mentioning, that the Ministry of Urban Development and Land has developments in clearing at the Dahla Dam, in addition to the development of the dam it will help irrigate large portion of land in the province.
